Within this subject area the Council will be addressing the following questions between 2016 and 2019:

  • What strategies do key leaders from the private and the public sector adopt in view of potentially disruptive innovations in their fields? How can education, research, and innovation policy-makers deal with uncertainties connected to disruptive innovation and adapt to potential threats as well as opportunities?
  • How can the Swiss system of education promote entrepreneurial thinking and foster openness to disruptive innovation?
  • What are the policy implications for education, health, and innovation policy (regulations and framework conditions) in case we really go through a “wave of creative destruction” (Schumpeter)?
