Within this subject area the Council will be addressing the following questions between 2016 and 2019:

  • How can or should one define an individual’s health status, taking into consideration gender-specific characteristics and variations at different stages of life?
  • Which categories of information are sufficient and which are necessary in guiding prevention, diagnostic, and treatment decisions? Who has access to different types of information? Who defines which information is medically relevant?
  • What are the political implications of these questions?
